Al Jaddaf Area of Dubai Seeing New Hotel Growth With Barcelo, Marriott and Rotana All Opening

Buyers: Dubai’s Al Jaddaf area is one of the most up-and-coming spots in the city, with a number of new hotels opening recently. In November Rotana opened its 35th property there with Marriott introducing its Element brand a month later.
Now, Occidental Al Jaddaf has announced it will open in February. The four-star property from Spanish chain Barceló Hotel Group will have a Lebanese and Spanish restaurants and a pool bar. The hotel is owned by Al Safeer Group.
As a part of the launch, the hotel is giving away 21 bed and breakfast stays through a competition on its Instagram and Facebook pages from today (January 3). People are asked to tag a friend they think deserves the stay and the winner will be picked at random…interesting new marketing ploy.
The Occidental Al Jaddaf has 365 large, bright rooms including 66 suites featuring avant-garde design with meeting rooms. It offers a variety of cuisine and fine dining including Mediterranean and Eastern flavours, which include the Carmen Tapas restaurant, which offers authentic Spanish cuisine; Beit Beiruty, a Lebanese restaurant with authentic flavours from the Levant region; and Souk, offering all-day dining. Located on the first floor of the hotel, the Stage Lounge & Bar is the perfect place to enjoy local street food and special drinks.
Rotana has announced the opening of its 35th property in the UAE, in the prestigious Al Jaddaf district of Dubai. In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mana bin Khalifa al Maktoum, Al Jaddaf Rotana Suite Hotel Dubai was officially inaugurated.
The striking 318-room property comprises of 14 floors, creating a dramatic and eye-catching addition to the burgeoning Al Jaddaf district. The property offers an array of different room types, including king rooms, family rooms, twin rooms. It is also home to 248 spacious and eloquently designed three-, two- and one-bedroom suites.
Al Jaddaf Rotana features five distinct dining experiences, catering to a variety of tastes and preferences. Timo, the signature Italian restaurant promises authentic Italian fare in an elevated setting. Two impressive chandeliers take centre stage, exuding an ambience that is sophisticated, yet warm and inviting.
The List Bar, radiating European style and elegance, serving a selection of expertly crafted beverages. For a hot beverage and delectable sweet treat, guests can relax in The Tea Room, a cosy enclave in the buzzing hotel lobby. Chic pool bar Aquarius channels resort style elegance, serving a selection of snacks and beverages – perfect for guests to savour while unwinding by the pool.
Al Jaddaf Rotana Suite Hotel Dubai features a Bodylines Fitness & Wellness Club with professional instructors, adhering to all UAE government health and safety protocols around sanitization and social distancing. A beautifully landscaped outdoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, and multiple massage treatment rooms provide the perfect refuge for relaxation.
Rotana Hotel Management Corporation was founded in 1992, by a partnership between two visionary thinkers, Nasser Al Nowais and Selim El Zyr. Operating as Rotana, it opened its first property, the Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi in 1993 and is today operates within the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe and Turkey.
Rotana’s plans to grow to a total of 80 properties by 2021, with several further properties planned for opening and new projects in the pipeline, confirming the company’s intention to have a Rotana managed property in all the major cities throughout the Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe within the next five years.

Element Al Jaddaf offers a collection of 269 studio, one and two-bedroom apartments, making the property an ideal proposition for business travellers, longer staying guests, and holidaymakers. All the apartments boast a fully equipped modern kitchenette and a large working area for guests choosing to work remotely. The two-bedroom apartments can accommodate up to six guests, and feature a spacious kitchenette, two bathrooms and expansive living and dining areas.

THPT Comment: To date Al Jaddaf has been a mainly residential area within Dubai Culture Village, a development that includes sleek waterfront apartments and few upscale boutique hotels overlooking Dubai Creek. The Marriott Al Jaddaf stood alone in the skyline of the Creek-side part of town, known for its dhow construction yards. It was joined by the Palazzo Versace in 2016.
