As Vice President for Asia Pacific and the Middle East at The Hotel Property Group, he leads regional strategy, business development, and transaction execution. His responsibilities include structuring, underwriting, negotiating, and overseeing a wide range of hotel and commercial real estate deals—spanning acquisitions, dispositions, advisory mandates, and debt financing.
Matthew collaborates closely with hotel owners, investors, operators, family offices, institutional capital providers, and government entities, delivering strategic counsel throughout the entire investment lifecycle: from market entry and feasibility studies to asset optimization and successful exits.
Partner at The Hotel Property Group / The Commercial Advisory. He has over seven years of experience in real estate and private equity, with a focus on investment sourcing, evaluation, and advisory across the Asia-Pacific region.
Prior to joining the firm, Daryl was a Senior Manager at Albourne, where he contributed to the sourcing and evaluation of commercial real estate investments throughout Asia-Pacific. Earlier in his career, he served as an Investment Associate at Savills Investment Management, supporting the assessment of industrial and logistics investment opportunities across Southeast Asia.
Daryl began his career at Cambridge Associates as part of the Real Assets Investment Group, where he gained experience in real assets investment research and portfolio analysis.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Finance from the National University of Singapore.
Jun Toyoda is a Sydney-based business professional with an international background spanning Japan and Australia. A graduate of Waseda University in Tokyo, he began his career in the Energy Department of Nissho Iwai (now Sojitz), where he gained experience in global trade and energy markets.
Jun holds real estate licenses in both Japan (Takken) and Australia (NSW), enabling him to work across the two property markets. He also serves as an Expert Consultant for the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), supporting cross-border business initiatives and providing insight into Japan–Australia commercial opportunities.
David Brown is Vice President at The Hotel Property Group, where he specialises in hotel asset management and investment strategy across international hospitality markets. With extensive experience overseeing hotel performance, operational optimisation, and value-enhancement initiatives, David works closely with owners, investors, and operators to maximise asset value and long-term returns.
His expertise spans asset repositioning, financial performance management, brand and operator selection, and strategic capital planning. David plays a key role in supporting the firm’s global hotel investment activities, helping guide assets through acquisition, stabilisation, and value-creation phases.
Dev has spent the past 50 years in the hotel industry – agency sector, providing hoteliers both in the UK and globally with high volumes of corporate and leisure business. In 1972 he co-founded Expotel, still today the market leader in corporate hotel and conference bookings (as part of Capita plc) with an annual hotel turnover of £250 million. Through these years Dev “grew up” with hotel GMs and Sales & Marketing executives, who today are CEOs of major groups, as well as the individual entrepreneurs running some of the best independent hotel companies.
In 2018, Dev started The Hotel Property Team as a niche, boutique hotel-broker, helping hoteliers and hotel investors buy/sell hotel properties and businesses. During the past five years, we established a unique reputation as having the expertise and insight of the major “Big 10” brokers, but with the “fleet of foot” attitude of a boutique broker….and unlike so many such brokers, a true understanding of the hotel industry, not least of all knowing the owners, on a personal basis, behind the major hotel brands and chains.
In 2023, Dev bought in three new equity partners, as below, rebranded the company as The Hotel Property Group, which brings in both new expertise as well a broader geographic spread with offices in the UK, Rest of Europe, Middle-East, Asia-Pacific….and associate partners in North America and the Caribbean.

With 30 years in entrepreneurial experience in international business relations, from strategic partnerships to equity investments to business development and solution management, Sassan has successfully led small to medium size companies to their exits. In the last few years, his focus has been the hospitality industry, assisting renown chains in their deal flow, select family offices in their acquisition strategy and hotel owners in the sales activities.
A qualified Chartered Surveyor with some 40 years of post qualification experience , providing commercial and residential investment, development and funding advice to Investors and property owners across the range of high net worth investors through to private and public property companies and institutional investors. He has worked in all property sectors , including logistics, retail and student accommodation together with hotel evaluation and subsequent acquisition or disposal in key locations throughout the world . His early experience was gained in the property investment division of Knight Frank in London , moving to a fund managerial role with Schroders in London and latterly in Amsterdam as a Director of Schroders International Property Fund NV.

Franck and his network are vast locally and internationally, and he is very familiar with the luxury lifestyle throughout the Caribbean.
