Bain Capital Credit LP and Omnam Group announced in October 2021 the creation of a new joint venture in hospitality development whose first acquisition is that of the 285-key Hotel Britannia Excelsior, through a fund managed by Kryalos SGR. The iconic building is located on the shores of the prestigious Lake Como and will be redeveloped into the most desirable 5* luxury lifestyle hotel on the Lake through a comprehensive capex programme.
Bain Capital now owns over 35 hotels in Italy with 2,500 keys and over 115 hotels across Europe with 8,000 keys, whilst this project is Omnam’s fourth hotel project in the country….the others being in Rome, Puglia and Florence.
Marriott International, Inc. today announced it has signed an agreement with Bain Capital Credit and Omnam Group to bring it’s EDITION Hotels brand to Lake Como. The Lake Como EDITION is slated to open in 2025 with 145 luxurious guest rooms, including two penthouse suites, a lively lobby bar, a floating pool, and multiple restaurants and bars overlooking Lake Como with breathtaking views of the Bellagio mountains. The property is a 19th century building located on the western shore of the prestigious Lake Como, a short drive from Central Milan. It will be converted into a luxury lifestyle destination that brings new life to Lake Como while honoring the intimate history of the building and its rich heritage.
