Buyer: IHG has signed a management agreement with Jindal Holidays Private Ltd. for a new Holiday Inn Resort in the Indian town of Corbett, Ramnagar. The development will mark the debut of the Holiday Inn Resort brand in Corbett National Park, the oldest national park in India, with one of the highest tiger population in the country.

“Over the years, Corbett National Park has witnessed an increase in the number of visitors as it is well connected with many major North Indian cities,” said Sudeep Jain, VP of Development, South West Asia, IHG. Due to the town’s proximity to major cities like Delhi, Lucknow, Chandigarh and others, Corbett is also increasingly become a popular destination for MICE and wedding events.

When it opens in Q1 2023, the Holiday Inn Resort Corbett Ramnagar will have 100 rooms. Public spaces will include both an all-day dining and a speciality restaurant, a bar & lounge, an outdoor pool and a gym. Meetings and events can be held in the business centre, boardrooms and an outdoor lawn with a capacity of around 500 people.

The hotel will also be a 20-minutes drive from the nearest railway station in Ramnagar town and a “comfortable” distance from Pantnagar airport.

As a part of its growth plans, IHG has gained momentum in India in recent years, opening and signing multiple hotels across several brands in leisure and business destinations. The company currently has 36 hotels across four brands in India and 45 more hotels due to open in the next two to three years.
