Buyer: The new hotel is under a new partnership between hotelier Ken McCulloch and Evans Property Group and will join properties in Glasgow and Leeds.
The property will have a Grill restaurant, chic cocktail lounge and Champagne room.
There will also be a custom-designed cigar garden.
Dakota Manchester has been designed by a creative team headed up by acclaimed designer Amanda Rose.
Manchester will be the fifth hotel in the group.
The ‘original’ hotels are located at Forth Bridge, Edinburgh and Eurocentral – a modern business estate equidistant between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The original Dakota Glasgow opened in Motherwell in 2006 with a more deluxe 2nd Glasgow hotel in 2016 and Leeds following one year later.
Future sites are in the pipeline as the group continue to target key cities in the UK.

THPT Comment: Ken McCulloch is, rightly so, credited with being one of the forefathers of today’s boutique hotel scene, with having started with the iconic One Devonshire Gardesn in Glasgow in the late 1980s, developed the Malmaison chain from 1994, spent 10 years in Monaco and has given birth to Dakota in recent years.
