Pan Pacific Hotels Group has announced the launch of two new hotels.  In partnership with the manager Tokyu Hotels, the two hotels — Bellustar Tokyo, a Pan Pacific hotel; and Hotel Groove Shinjuku, a Parkroyal hotel — aim to accelerate Pan Pacific’s portfolio in Japan.

“Our two new hotels, situated in the heart of Shinjuku, will be a prime location to draw in international travellers and capture the global tourism demand,” says Choe Peng Sum, CEO of Pan Pacific Hotels Group.

Both hotels will be located in the new Tokyu Kabukicho Tower, Shinjuku’s landmark skyscraper designed by Kume Sekkei, the architectural firm responsible for the well-known contemporary Yayoi Kusama Museum in Tokyo. The opening of Tokyu Kabukicho Tower is part of the city-wide Shinjuku Redevelopment Plan, along with other rejuvenation efforts, including an airport shuttle station and the incorporation of public spaces like Cinecity Square, an outdoor theatre space.

“Tokyu Hotel’s strong service experience in Japanese hospitality, combined with Pan Pacific Hotels Group’s powerful global platforms, will provide guests with a unique experience in Kabukicho,” says Jun Murai, president and representative director of Tokyu Hotels.

Slated to open in the first half of 2023, the 97-key Bellustar Tokyo is situated on the uppermost floors on 39th to 47th. Facilities include a “sky spa” on the top floor, a dedicated lift and check-in counter with the option for in-room check-in and a private gym with direct elevator access for privacy. The main restaurant on the 45th floor is three-storey high with floor-to-ceiling windows, with offerings such as teppanyaki, sushi, bar and lounge.

Room sizes range from 452 to 2,981 sqf, and 7m-wide windows provide sweeping views of the Tokyo skyline. The penthouse on the topmost 47th floor offers panoramic views and includes a private spa treatment room for two, a kitchen and a jacuzzi, and access to a 1,485 sqf private sky lounge. A double-storey duplex suite that spans the 45th to 46th floor has a living area, kitchen and bar. Round-the-clock butler service and in-room chef for a private dining experience are available upon request.

Located on the 18th to 38th floor, the rooms at the 538-key Hotel Groove Shinjuku rooms range from 226 to 657 sqf. The interior is furnished with eclectic art and music scenes inspired by the nightlife and entertainment options in the Kabukicho district. Room types include the 656 sq ft double-twin family suite with a large wall-mounted screen.

On the 17th floor is Hotel Groove Shinjuku’s main restaurant, offering various cuisines and a bar. There are also private event rooms and an open-air terrace featuring outdoor LED screens for movie screenings, private gatherings and events. In addition, guests can access Tokyu Kabukicho Tower’s entertainment facilities, such as live performance venue Zepp Shinjuku, Theatre Milano-Za, and 109 Cinemas Premium Shinjuku.
