US Dream Hotel Group Opening in Birmingham, UK 2020

Location: The boutique hotel is part of a restoration of the former Methodist Central Hall on the northern end of Corporation Street in the Birmingham city centre. The three-story, Edwardian red brick and terracotta Grade II-listed building opened in 1905.

Developer: Ciel Capital, real estate investor, joint venture equity partner and asset manager, headed up by CEO Vedrana Bilanovic Riley and strongly behind Starboard Hotels.
Buyer/Operator: Dream Hotel Group of the USA, headed up by Jay Stein, CEO. The company, which includes the Chatwal New York and Time Hotels, currently operates 18 properties. There are plans for 30 additional hotels internationally over the next four years, from a Dream hotel in Belize to boutique-oriented Unscripted hotels in Birmingham, England, and Tulum, Mexico.
THPT Comment: This interesting hotel company was one of the innovators of the boutique hotel concept, rooftop bars and generally changing the image of food and beverage in hotels as we knew it in the 1990’s and before.
